Write about your key personal learning in this course this far...

I have enjoyed this past weeks assignments. Reading the blogs of others can inspire thought and insight. I found a blog that delves into curriculm. I am not a teacher but I have the opportunity to be a part of a church school that has chose to use an online curriculm. I am working towards becoming the school administrator and one of my self proclamed tasks is to determine if the curriculm they are using meets the same standard as teacher taught lessons. Several of my classmate posted on blogs where teachers reflect on their experience as a teacher. They give ideas, discuss problems, and deal with issues that are faced in the classroom.

In terms of blogs as a classroom tool, I like this idea, however I see this as a difficult task to keep up with. Blogs can be time consuming. My idea of a classroom blog would be to have a student assigned to the task if updating it each week. They could reflect on the week discussing what they liked and disliked, as well as posting weekly assignments and things like that. I must say I do admire those that can keep up with blogging, I could see myself starting off good but becoming inconsistant as time goes on.

On another note, group assignments are important and I enjoy working with other in the online community. I find that it give a sense of belonging. Since we are all remote working together in small groups give us an opportunity to bounce ideas around and get the feedback needed without being overwhelmed by the responses.

  1. I can totally agree with you on the fact that blogging is something I would have a hard time keeping up with. As you I would start out strong but as time passed it would probably lay to the wayside. I also agree that the small groups working together definitely allows us the opportunity to bounce ideas of each other and receive meaningful feedback before submitting assignments. Great Reflection!
